Environmental Policy

Cork Scaffolding (CSC) is committed to conducting its scaffolding operations in an environmentally responsible manner. We recognise our duty to minimise the environmental impact of our activities and to promote sustainable practices throughout our business.

We are committed to:

• Complying with all applicable Irish and European environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
• Preventing pollution arising from our activities
• Reducing waste and improving resource efficiency
• Continually improving our environmental performance

We acknowledge guidance issued by the Environmental Protection Agency and relevant local authorities in managing our environmental responsibilities.

This policy applies to:

• All yard and site operations
• Transport and logistics activities
• Scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling on client sites
• Company employees, subcontractors, and suppliers

Cork Scaffolding (CSC) will comply with all relevant environmental legislation, including but not limited to:

• Waste Management Acts 1996–2020
• Environmental Protection Agency Acts
• Applicable EU Directives
• Local authority waste, noise, and environmental regulations

We will monitor changes in legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.

We recognise that our operations may impact the environment through:

• Fuel consumption from company vehicles and plant
• Carbon emissions from transport
• Waste materials including steel tubes, fittings, timber boards, and packaging
• Noise during site operations
• Dust from cutting activities
• Risk of fuel or oil spills in yards or on sites

We will:

• Provide environmental awareness training to employees
• Include environmental topics in toolbox talks
• Ensure supervisors monitor compliance on-site
• Require subcontractors to adhere to our Environmental Policy

We are committed to continuous improvement and will:

• Review environmental performance annually
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions
• Set measurable environmental objectives where practicable
• Review this policy at least once per year

This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if:

• Legislation changes
• Significant operational changes occur
• An environmental incident requires procedural updates

This statement will be reviewed periodically.
